Exercise 4-Text of Linguistics

The word linguistic derived from Latin lingua which means ' language '. Linguistics is a study of a language or a science which makes the language as an object of the studies. In French there are three terms to describe the language that is: 
  • Langue: A particular language.
  • Langage: language in general
  • Parole: language in forms that are in the form of real speech.
Linguistics often called General Linguistics. Which is, the science of Linguistics not only examine a language itself, but rather examine the details of language in General which in French is called langage terminology. Linguistic experts are called linguist. The father of modern Linguistics was  Ferdinand de Saussure (1857-1913). Hisbook on language entitled Course de Linguistique Generale first published in 1916.
